Open Letter to the Government.

We support Auckland Pride's High Court challenge over the Minister's failure to consider human rights when removing sport inclusion guidelines. The minister did this with no consideration of the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act, the Human Rights Act, or Sport NZ's statutory obligations.

Human rights are not accessories that governments can choose when and when not to apply to the people they serve. We are calling on the reinstatement of the Guiding Principles for the Inclusion of Transgender People in Community Sport. Everyone is safer when clear guidance is provided.
