RainbowYOUTH fosters a safe, inclusive, whānau environment for queer and gender diverse youth and their wider community. We are a youth-led, youth-run organisation that values and respects the diversity and opinions of peoples everywhere. We are committed to honouring our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. RainbowYOUTH’s vision is that all young people thrive in Aotearoa, he waka eke noa (a waka we are all in together, without exception). Our mission is to create social change by providing information, advocacy and support for queer, gender diverse and intersex young people, their friends, whānau and wider communities.

With over half of our annual income coming from donations and fundraising, we know our salary bands can’t compare to larger charities and organisations.     Tāmaki Makaurau | 32 Hours

    This fixed-term contract role is ideal for applicants with experience in facilitating hui or wānanga, a strong understanding of Civics in Tāmaki—or a willingness to learn—and established connections within takatāpui communities in Tāmaki Makaurau.

  • Trans Peer Support Worker

    Tāmaki Makaurau | Full Time

    The Trans Peer Support Worker (TPSW) will provide peer support to trans youth and whānau across the wider Auckland region. Full training, including detailed peer support training, will be provided. They will maintain strong relationships with gender affirming healthcare providers across the region.

  • National Support Manager

    Tāmaki Makaurau | Full Time

    The RainbowYOUTH (RY) National Support Manager plays a key role in the management and development of our support services.

    You will manage the Regional Managers, Coordinators and Support Workers across the regions where we have services. You will have a particular focus on supporting the development of our regional services outside of Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. Currently these regions are Taranaki, Moana-a-Toi, Te Whanganui-a-Tara , Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau Northland. You’ll develop and hold relationships across each of these regions. You will lead the safety of our support services and ensure we’re operating in line with best practice.
