Our social groups are smoke, alcohol & drug free spaces where young people can connect with one another in a friendly, supportive and inclusive environment. Each of our groups are youth-led and hosted by trained facilitators. Our groups aren't just for “out” queer and gender diverse youth - if you're unsure about your identity, this is just as much your space as it is ours!

GAYmers
GAYmers is a social group based in New Plymouth for people aged 13-27. The group is led by two trained volunteer facilitators, Brie (she/her) and Astro (he/they), and has a focus on board games and video games. Join us for chill vibes, snacks, and, of course, some ‘gayming’. We always welcome new faces!
WHO: 13-27 year olds who identify as LGBTIQ+, MVPFAFF+ or questioning
WHERE: 2/7 King Street, New Plymouth Central, RainbowYOUTH Taranaki Drop-in Centre
WHEN: 4pm - 6pm Wednesday, fortnightly

New faces are always welcome! Choose which group(s) you'd like to go to, follow their social media and check out our social groups calendar. Then, show up at their next session, and our facilitators will take you under their wing and welcome you into the space! Parents and caregivers can drop off a young person at a group but aren't allowed to attend. This is so we can protect our young peoples' safety and privacy.
