Join the
RainbowYOUTH Board!
RainbowYOUTH members can apply or nominate someone new!
Applications close on Friday, April 17
RainbowYOUTH is excited to open Expressions of Interest to join the Board!
Each application will be reviewed by a panel of community experts and existing board members, and will be approved or declined at their discretion. Applicants for the roles of Office Holders and Tuakana will be required to participate in an interview and may also be asked to provide a reference. Applicants for the roles of Teina will only have their application form reviewed.
In our RainbowYOUTH Governance context, a Teina is described as being between 16 - 27 years, passionate and keen to learn, potentially coming with experience in community work / advocacy mahi. A Tuakana is described as being over 16+ years, having solid experience in governance, advisory, or decision making bodies, as well as being equipped with the skills to support teina at a governance level.
Finally, the Office Holders consist of the roles of Co-Chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer. These positions are considered Tuakana, meaning applicants are expected to already be equipped with governance skills, and anyone over the age of 16 may apply. Each role has distinct responsibilities, which are outlined in their respective job descriptions.
