Strategy

RainbowYOUTH’s 2020 Strategy

Our strategy extends the Vision and Mission of RY to talk about outcomes we would like the organisation to achieve, and puts timeframes around those outcomes. These strategic plans are important to keep us focused on achieving short term goals, which also work towards our vision in the long term.

Our strategy also allows us to evaluate opportunities which are presented to RainbowYOUTH, to see if they align with what we are trying to achieve. These are the six focus areas that the board and staff have identified as being priorities for RainbowYOUTH to focus our work on for the next three years.

Meeting our rangatahi where they are

RainbowYOUTH provides safe, accessible, inclusive and useful Spaces for all rainbow rangatahi, their friends and whānau

Nurturing partnerships to maximise our impact

RainbowYOUTH partners seamlessly with government, community organisations, commercial organisations and local iwi

Serving our Māori and Pacific whānau

RainbowYOUTH provides relevant services for queer and gender diverse Māori and Pacific rangatahi

Data-driven and need-responsive services

RainbowYOUTH uses a fact based understanding of our community to inform our services, while staying responsive to the needs of rangatahi who reach out to us

Promoting our community across Aotearoa

People in Aotearoa have a better understanding of the different identities that exist within our community

Enabling RainbowYOUTH to operate sustainably

Ensure the ongoing success of RainbowYOUTH
